Texas Tech transfer infielder Linkin Garcia announced his commitment to Texas for his sophomore season Wednesday morning via his Instagram.
The Big 12 All-Freshman Team selection batted .338 with an .877 OPS while driving in 59 runs in 55 games for the Red Raiders in 2026, clubbing four homers and tying for the conference lead in doubles at 21 with teammate senior middle infielder Tracer Lopez.
A native of Newport Beach, Calif., Garcia was rated a top-25 freshman by Baseball America and 93rd among Perfect Game’s top-100 freshmen as an alum of the A3 Academy in Tampa, Fla. Baseball America also tabbed him as the No. 63 overall prospect for the 2027 MLB Draft, and currently lists him as the draft’s No. 31 college prospect.
