The Texas Longhorns added yet another addition from the transfer portal, this time securing former Stanford Cardinal shortstop Temo Becerra. Texas head coach Jim Schlossnagle knew his team needed to find a suitable replacement for junior Jalin Flores, who was an everyday player and is likely to leave in the upcoming MLB Draft. Becerra fits that role and is coming off his most productive season at Stanford.
A California native, Becerra will head to Austin as a graduate transfer after playing his entire collegiate career in Palo Alto. This season for the Cardinal he appeared in all 52 games and started 51 of them. He batted .330 with 27 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, one home run and 37 RBIs.
