On Thursday, Rueben Owens announced that he would decommit from the Longhorns. Just last weekend, Owens took an unofficial visit to Texas with recruits such as Arch Manning and Johntay Cook. Now, it appears that Texas may be on the outside looking in for Rueben’s services. Owens, the nation’s second-ranked running back in the nation according to 247Sports, has already gained four scholarship offers since his announcement. Additionally, with his decommitment, Texas’s 2023 recruiting class is back to nil.

On Tuesday, 2022 five-star kicker Will Stone declared that he was committing to Texas. Stone, who attends the Regents School of Austin, will stay close to home with his decision to play for the Longhorns. According to Kohl’s, Stone is the 15th ranked kicker in the nation’s 2022 class. Meanwhile, 247Sports has Stone listed as the nation’s third-ranked kicker in the 2022 class.

2022 four-star running back Jaydon Blue shared that he was enjoying his time in Austin this weekend via Twitter. Blue, the nation’s top running back according to 247Sports, is a Texas pledge who attends Klein Cain High School in the Houston area.

In May, Blue announced his intention of opting out of his senior season of high school football. As a result, barring any unforeseen changes, Blue’s next snaps on the football field should be for the Texas Longhorns.

In addition to Blue, 2022 four-star safety Bryan Allen Jr. was able to experience the Texas treatment on his official visit to the Forty Acres. Allen, an Aledo product, has been committed to joining the Longhorns since April. In addition, Bryan’s younger brother, Jaden Allen, was also able to visit the campus as well. Jaden, a class of 2024 cornerback, received an offer from Texas earlier in the month of June.

Also on campus this weekend, 2022 four-star wide receiver C.J. Williams, who appeared to be all smiles during his official visit. Williams, a product of Mater Dei High School in the Los Angeles, CA area, is friends with current Texas pledge Maalik Murphy. The Mater Dei product is a hot commodity in the world of recruiting as 247Sports has him rated as the nation’s sixth-ranked class of 2022 wide receiver.

Currently, 2022 four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield is Texas’s only wide receiver commit in their 2022 recruiting class.
