On Tuesday evening David Pierce and the Texas Baseball program picked up a pitching commitment from Nacogdoches High School (TX) right-hander Jacek Karczewski. Karczewski, who is slated to graduate in 2020, chose the Longhorns over Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Houston and Texas State.
The scouting report on Karczewski from Prep Baseball Report reads:
“Karczewski has a projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds, and works from a high slot with a clean arm swing. The right-hander sat 83-84, but it’s not hard to dream that there is more velocity to come in the future. His curveball has good 12/6 downer shape at 68-70. The two-way player and right-handed hitter also had a couple of hits on balls he squared up to the pull side.”
Karczewski joins an already impressive 2020 class that includes RHP Travis Sthele and LHP Caden Noah.
