Texas Baseball’s dominant start to the season stayed right on track Tuesday night, as the No. 3 Longhorns rolled past Houston Christian, 16–3, in a seven-inning run-rule victory at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. It marked the third straight Tuesday that Texas has wrapped things up early.

The bats stayed hot all night for the Longhorns, who scored in five of six offensive innings and poured in 14 runs over the final three frames. The win pushed Texas to 12–0 on the year — its best start since 2005, the same season the program captured its sixth national championship with a 56–16 record.

After scratching across a run in each of the first two innings, Texas broke the game wide open in the fourth. Eleven Longhorns came to the plate, producing five hits and six runs to make it 8–1. Ethan Mendoza, Adrian Rodriguez, Temo Becerra, and Anthony Pack Jr. each drove in runs during the rally, with Pack Jr. bringing home two.

The onslaught continued in the fifth when Mendoza knocked in another run before Carson Tinney crushed a three-run homer into the visiting bullpen, extending the lead to 12–1. An inning later, Aiden Robbins added a two-RBI single as Texas plated four more to finish off the scoring barrage.

Five different Longhorns — Tinney, Mendoza, Robbins, Rodriguez, and Pack Jr. — posted multi-RBI games, and every starting position player recorded at least one hit. Texas finished with 14 total hits, matching a season high.

Freshman right-hander Sam Cozart (3–0) turned in another steady outing, tossing five innings of one-run ball. He faced just 16 hitters, striking out six and allowing only a solo homer in the fourth.

Next up, the Longhorns continue their homestand this weekend with a three-game series against USC Upstate. First pitch for Friday’s opener is set for 6:30 p.m. at Disch-Falk Field.
