With a crowd of 6,110 on hand at DischFalk Field, the Texas Longhorns played good baseball tonight and beat the Princeton Tigers by the score of 5-3. Sam Stafford pitched a solid 7 innings and gave up two hits and one earned run before handing the ball over to the bullpen. The Tigers put together a small rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs and threatening to put more on the board before Texas retired the side. Corey Knebel closed the game and got the save for the Longhorns who had 5 hits.
The Longhorns play Kent State at 6:30 pm on Saturday in the winner’s bracket on day two of the Austin Regionals. The Golden Flashes beat Texas State today 4-2.
