Texas (10-11) desperately needed a win after a poor performance against Kansas State last week in Manhattan. Riding a 13 point, 9 rebound effort from freshman Ioannis Papapetrou, that’s exactly what they got in the 60-43 win over the Horned Frogs. Sheldon McClellan dumped in 15 points for the Longhorns, leading all scorers in the team’s second win in conference play. Texas shot 52.3% from the field and committed 10 turnovers.
Adrick McKinney led TCU (9-12)  in scoring with 13 points. The loss for TCU leaves the Horned Frogs winless in conference play (0-8).
Texas looks to carry the momentum from the win into Morgantown on Monday when they take on West Virginia in a nationally televised game on ESPN. The Longhorns have not won back-to-back games since mid-December when they beat Texas State and North Carolina.
