AUSTIN, Texas — The calendar is officially full for Texas men’s basketball. Shortly after the Southeastern Conference released its league television schedule Wednesday afternoon, the Longhorns finalized every date, tip time and network assignment for the 2026-27 season.
The slate includes 32 regular-season games plus an exhibition, with 18 of those games at Moody Center. Every contest will also be carried on the Longhorn Radio Network.
A Big-Stage Tune-Up
Texas gets its first look under the lights in a place built for big moments. The Longhorns travel to Madison Square Garden to face St. John’s in an exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 25, with tip set for 11 a.m. Central.
The games start counting on Monday, Nov. 2, when Chicago State visits Moody Center for an 8 p.m. opener on SEC Network.
Nonconference Tests Away From Austin
The early schedule carries real weight. Texas meets Baylor in the San Antonio Hoops Showdown on Sunday, Nov. 15, a 2 p.m. matchup on ESPN that renews a rivalry fans on both sides still circle every year.
Thanksgiving week takes the Longhorns to San Diego for the Rady Children’s Invitational. Texas opens against Georgetown on Thanksgiving Day at 1:30 p.m. on FS1, then faces either Saint Mary’s or UCLA on Friday, Nov. 27, on FOX. That tip will be at either 1:30 or 4 p.m., depending on how the bracket shakes out.
A road trip to Louisville follows on Tuesday, Dec. 1, for the SEC/ACC Challenge, an 8 p.m. game on ESPN2. Texas then heads down I-10 to Houston’s Toyota Center for the Houston Hoopfest against Miami on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN. Memphis comes to Austin four nights later for an 8 p.m. game on ESPN2.
SEC Play Opens at Home
Conference play begins Saturday, Jan. 2, when Florida visits Moody Center at 5 p.m. The 18-game SEC schedule is split evenly, with nine games at home and nine on the road.
The home lineup gives Longhorn fans plenty to look forward to. Oklahoma (Jan. 16) and Kentucky (Jan. 30) both come to town for 11 a.m. Saturday tips, Alabama visits on Tuesday, Feb. 9, and Tennessee arrives on Saturday, Feb. 27. Auburn, Arkansas and Missouri also make the trip to Austin.
On the road, Texas visits Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU, South Carolina, Florida, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma and Mississippi State before closing the regular season in College Station.
Two Rounds With the Aggies
The Lone Star Showdown takes center stage down the stretch. Texas A&M comes to Moody Center on Wednesday, Feb. 17, for an 8 p.m. game on ESPN2 or ESPNU. The rematch closes the regular season on Saturday, March 6, at 7 p.m. on SEC Network from College Station.
Where to Watch
Expect plenty of national exposure. ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU will carry most of the SEC slate, with SEC Network picking up the road games at LSU, South Carolina and Texas A&M. Home games against Chicago State and Grambling State air on SEC Network, while Gardner-Webb, Southern Utah, Southern Indiana, Jackson State, Prairie View A&M and East Texas A&M will stream on SEC Network+.
Several conference games still list more than one possible network, so final channel assignments for those dates will come closer to tipoff.
