The wait is over. The NCAA regional hosts were announced Sunday night, and the Longhorns heard their name called among the 16 teams who will host the regional round of the NCAA Tournament.
Texas finished the regular season with 37-20 record and were the regular season champions of the Big 12. Despite an 0-2 performance during the conference tournament, the Longhorns will begin postseason play in Austin.
The last time Texas hosted a regional was 2011, when the Longhorns won the regional and eventually advanced to the College World Series.
The NCAA will announce the remainder of the NCAA Tournament field tomorrow at 11 AM CST.
