This weekend, Texas will host a number of top recruits as they take on the Georgia Bulldogs in a top-5 SEC matchup, a game that could have significant implications both on the field and in recruiting. The Longhorns, boasting the No. 6-ranked recruiting class nationally for their 2025 class, are set to welcome several key visitors, including committed players, top targets for the 2026 and 2027 classes, and a few prospects who could potentially flip their current commitments.
Among the notable 2025 commits expected in Austin are five-star safety Jonah Williams, five-star wide receivers Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench, four-star linebacker Elijah Barnes, defensive tackle Myron Charles, tight end Nick Townsend, top edge rusher Lance Jackson, Saraland (Ala.) quarterback KJ Lacey and offensive tackle Nick Brooks. These players represent the future of the Texas program, and their presence reinforces the strength of the Longhorns’ recruiting efforts.
For the 2026 class, several top targets will be on campus as well. Texas’ No. 1 running back target, Javian Osborn from Forney, is expected to be in attendance, along with five-star quarterback commit Dia Bell, four-star safety Zelus Hicks, four-star wide receiver Brayden Robinson from Red Oak and four-star receiver Chris Stewart, another Longhorn commit from Shadow Creek High School. Additionally, two key uncommitted 2026 recruits will be visiting: John Turntine III, one of the nation’s top offensive linemen from North Crowley High School, and Kaydon Finley, a wide receiver from Aledo who is a top priority for the Longhorns.
One of the most highly anticipated recruits, 2025 athlete Michael Terry III, remains uncommitted, but Texas is one of three schools aggressively pursuing the nation’s top athlete. Additionally, linebacker Riley Pettijohn, currently committed to Ohio State, will be visiting, as Texas has maintained contact with the star defender from McKinney High School. Wide receivers Kelshaun Johnson (committed to Texas A&M) and Kevin Wynn (committed to Florida State) will also be in Austin, as Texas looks to continue pushing for potential flips.
With such a loaded visitor list, this weekend’s showdown between Texas and Georgia could play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Longhorns’ program, as the team looks to impress these recruits both on and off the field.
