Texas matched Georgia with an SEC-high 11 players selected to the 2026 Preseason Coaches All-SEC Team, while the Longhorns tied LSU for the conference lead with five first-team selections. Linebacker Rasheem Biles, wide receiver Cam Coleman, offensive lineman Trevor Goosby, return specialist Ryan Niblett and edge rusher Colin Simmons represented Texas on the first team.
Quarterback Arch Manning earned second-team recognition. Texas also placed offensive lineman Brandon Baker, long snapper Trey Dubuc, Niblett as an all-purpose player, defensive back Jelani McDonald, running back Hollywood Smothers and wide receiver Ryan Wingo on the third team. Niblett was among five SEC players recognized at more than one position.
Simmons and Goosby received preseason All-SEC honors for the second consecutive season. Both were named first-team All-SEC by the league’s coaches following the 2025 regular season, while Wingo and Niblett landed on the second team. Texas begins its 2026 campaign against Texas State on Sept. 5 at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
