Rodney Terry and the Texas Longhorns will begin the 2023-2024 basketball season ranked in the Top-25. The Associated Press (AP) Preseason Basketball Poll was released on Monday and the Longhorns find themselves at No. 18, one of four Big 12 teams in the Preseason Top-25. The Kansas Jayhawks hold the overall No. 1 spot followed by the Houston Cougars, who are ranked No. 7. Behind the Longhorns at No. 20 are the Baylor Bears.
Texas finished last season with a 29-9 record and a trip to the Elite 8 where they lost to the Miami Hurricanes.
The Longhorns will host an Orange-White Scrimmage on Tuesday, October 17th at Gregory Gym before hosting St. Edward’s in an exhibition match on October 30th. The first regular game of the season will take place on November 7th at Moody Center when Texas takes on Incarnate Word.
