The first offensive player to commit to the Texas Longhorns from the transfer portal came today in the form of former Michigan State tight end Michael Masunas.
Masunas, a 6-5, 259 lb. native of Chandler, Arizona, played three seasons in East Lansing. He played an integral role for the Spartans this past season, catching 19 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns.
Masunas was a three-star prospect out of high school and was ranked as the 27th best tight end in the transfer portal.
The addition of Michael Masunas has the Texas tight ends room in a great spot moving forward, as he will pair nicely with Nick Townsend, who really started flashing towards the end of his freshman season.
He joins former Arkansas DT Ian Geffrard, former New Mexico longsnapper Trey DuBuc, former Memphis kicker Gianni Spetic and former Florida State punter Mac Chiumento as transfer portal commitments thus far.
