The NCAA Transfer Portal officially opened on Friday, and two days later Texas and new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp secure their first commitment. Ian Geffrard, a 6-5, 387 lb. defensive tackle who played three seasons for the Arkansas Razorbacks, committed to the Longhorns following his weekend visit to Austin.
Geffrard finished his time in Fayetteville with 39 total tackles (14 solo). The Mableton, Georgia native was a three star prospect out of high school and held an offer from Texas, but ultimately chose to play at the next level for Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks.
Geffrard was the fourth best defensive line prospect in the transfer portal according to the 247Sports Transfer Portal rankings.
