The Texas Longhorns added a key piece to their secondary on Tuesday, as former Rutgers cornerback Bo Mascoe committed to Texas over the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Mascoe, a native of Kissimmee, Florida, was a three-star prospect out of high school when he committed to the Scarlet Knights. He played three seasons in New Brunswick, starting in every game at cornerback last season. He finished his breakout season with 48 total tackles (29 solo) and one interception.
Mascoe was ranked the 4th best defensive back in the transfer portal according to the 247Sports Transfer Portal Player Rankings.
He joins former Arkansas DT Ian Geffrard, former New Mexico longsnapper Trey DuBuc, former Memphis kicker Gianni Spetic, former Florida State punter Mac Chiumento and former Michigan State tight end Michael Masunas as transfer portal commitments thus far.
