The Texas Longhorns (12-3, 1-1 Big 12) follow Tuesday’s road win in Cincinnati with a trip to Morgantown to face the West Virginia Mountaineers (5-10, 0-2 Big 12) on Saturday. The Longhorns escaped Fifth Third Arena on Tuesday with a 74-73 win, thanks to a game-winning jumper by transfer guard Max Abmas, to claim their first Big 12 win of the season. West Virginia is still in search of their first conference win of the season, losing to Houston and Kansas State in consecutive games.
Texas has played well at WVU Coliseum, winning four of the last five games played against the Mountaineers.
The Longhorns were without senior forward Kadin Shedrick in the win against the Bearcats, but they received a big game from Dylan Disu in his absence. Disu started his first game of the season and contributed a career-high 33 points which included four three-pointers.
Fifth year senior guard RaeQuan Battle leads the Mountaineers in scoring, averaging 21.4 points per game. Fellow fifth year seniors center Jesse Edwards and forward Quinn Slazinski each average 14.8 and 14.5 points per game respectively.
Tipoff comes at 5:00 PM CST with the game being televised on ESPN+. Longhorns Radio Network will carry audio of the games and can be found here.
