Mono e Mono. That is what Saturday’s game will be. In Saturday’s game, the two X-factors will be Quinn Ewers and Donovan Edwards, the respective team’s star players. If Quinn Ewers is off on Saturday, it is difficult to imagine a scenario in which the Longhorns win. Meanwhile, if Donovan Edwards and the Michigan ground game is off – the Wolverines will struggle to keep up with the Longhorns. Sometimes, it simply comes down to a matchup’s two best players.

DeRaud’s X-Factors:

Michigan’s X-factors against Texas will be cornerbacks Jyaire Hill and Zeke Berry. Hill, opposite star corner Will Johnson, will have the critical job of guarding a variety of receivers, including Matthew Golden, Deandre Moore, Johntay Cook, and Ryan Wingo, as Johnson locks down Bond. Hill will face increased attention from Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Berry, the nickel corner praised by coaches all off-season, will be responsible for covering Bolden in the slot. If they can stick to their assignments and force Ewers to throw into tight coverage. Michigan will have a great chance to continue their national title defense.
