Lovejoy hosted North Crowley last Friday night in a much anticipated matchup of two teams who both made deep playoff runs in 2022. Each team has prospects who have received a lot of interest from an assortment of college football programs.  We are spotlighting several several playmakers from both teams below.

Jalen Lott (Ath)
6’0 168
Lovejoy High School
Class of 2026

Lott has the skill set to play on both sides of the football and be dominant. Against North Crowley, Lott took snaps at wide receiver, showing an explosive burst in the open field, he is dynamic runner with next level speed and he excels at yards after the catch. Jalen has a long, lean, athletic frame with an extended reach and he has large hands that swallow up the football. Lott is rated as a 4-Star recruit by 247Sports and is a national recruit, picking up multiple Power 5 offers from schools around the country, such as Michigan, Florida State, Oregon and most recently Houston and Arizona. While the Longhorns haven’t offered, it’s evident that programs should build a rapport early with Lott, as he is one of the top overall players in the Class of 2026.

Daylan McCutcheon (WR)
6’0 175
Lovejoy
Class of 2025

McCutcheon is a savy route runner, he is smooth in his release at the snap, he gets a deep bend in his hips that enables him to get in and out of his breaks quickly and he has the speed to create separation at the second level. Daylan tracks the football in flight well, he has late hands that he uses to secure the football with superb timing and early on this season he has shown that he can make the difficult catch look routine. The 4-Star recruit, has been offered by the Longhorns and has the skill set tailored made to fit the Texas offensive scheme.

Cornelius Warren III (Ath)
5’10 170
North Crowley
Class of 2025

Warren III is a big play waiting to happen when he touches the football. He is an explosive runner, he shows great patience in the hole using excellent vision to set up his blocks, he has the strength to run with power between the tackles and he has the speed to make a house call from any down and distance. Cornelius has the ability to cut on a dime, he makes defenders miss in the open field routinely and he is dangerous receiver out of the backfield or he can lineup at wide receiver. Rated a 3-Star recruit in the Class of 2025, Warren III has multiple offers from Power 5 programs, that include Texas Tech, Miami, Houston, Arizona State and Utah just to name a few. Warren III has the explosive skill set that collegiate programs cover at the next level.

Chris Jimerson Jr. (QB)
5’11 175
North Crowley
Class of 2025

Jimerson Jr. has a big arm, he can make all of the throws on the route tree, his ability to navigate pocket pressure is a trait that sticks out in his game and he is a lethal playmaker at the quarterback postion. Chris has been a two year starter at North Crowley and he has full control of the Panthers offense. Chris is an explosive runner, he has the ability to stop on a dime, he is phonebooth quick and he has the speed to make a house call from any distance on the football field. College programs are recruiting Chris as an athlete, TCU offered over the summer and Grambling, as well as Mississippi Valley State have extended offers. With the football in his hand, Chris has the ability to put fear in defenses every snap he plays.

Sterling Brooks (DT)
TCU Commit
6’4 315
North Crowley
Class of 2024

Brooks is physical at the point of attack, he has the strength to deliver a stiff punch at engagement and he holds his position without losing ground. Sterling has the athleticism combined with excellent lateral quickness to make plays in the backfield and he plays with a high motor. Brooks is a disruptive force in the trenches that has the skill set to control the line of scrimmage. A 3-Star rated recruit, with offers from the likes of Houston, Baylor, Kansas and SMU, Sterling was a highly sought after prospect, but Brooks decided to remain close to home when he committed to TCU over the summer.

Payton plays under control, he reads plays quickly and his ability to run down ball carriers is a trait that sticks out in his game. Pierce has the speed to get downhill in a hurry, he takes proper angles to the football and he blitzes on passing downs effectively. A 4-Star rated recruit, the Longhorns offered Pierce in 2022 but the talented linebacker committed to Ohio State in April.

Moore is technically sound, his footwork is clean, he transitions into his backpedal fluidly and he has the skill set that next level defensive backs possess. David has excellent arm length which enables him to get hands on receivers early in their routes, he uses his violent hands in press coverage to blanket his opponent and he matched with McMcutcheon on multiple occasions and held down his side of the field. Moore is a 3-Star rated recruit, who commited to Arkansas State this summer but you can expect his mailbox to be very active after the fast start to the season.
