Aug. 31 – New Mexico State Aggies (0-7) vs Abilene Christian Wildcats

Texas Offers 2026 Four-Star Waxahachie WR Kohen Brown

Line: OFF

Prediction: Abilene Christian 20, New Mexico State 17

This isn’t the best ACU team, but New Mexico State doesn’t know how to win. Cats in a close one.

Sept. 7 – BYU Cougars (5-2) vs Boise State Broncos

Line: BYU -7

Prediction: BYU 30, Boise State 27

BYU’s vaunted defense was shredded by Houston last weekend, but the Cougars still won a squeaker. They should be more prepared this week to beat the Broncos, but it wont be easy.

Sept. 14 – Ole Miss Rebels (4-3) vs Idaho Vandals

Line: Ole Miss -41.5

Prediction: Mississippi 52, Idaho 13

The Rebels could score into the 70’s on Idaho, but I bet Freeze calls off the dogs early in yet another late season SEC cupcake game.

Sept. 21 – Kansas State Wildcats (2-4) vs West Virginia Mountaineers

Line: Kansas State -11

Prediction: West Virginia 31, Kansas State 24

Seen both squads play quite a bit this year, and I just don’t see how the Wildcats are 11 points better than the Mountaineers. WVU should pull the upset with superior quarterback play and their physical running attack.

Oct. 3 – Iowa State Cyclones (1-5) vs Oklahoma State Cowboys

Line: Oklahoma State -13.5

Prediction: Oklahoma State 42, Iowa State 28

Not sure which Cowboys squad will show up, or who will quarterback it the entire game. The Cyclones have not been able to win the close games and are toward the end of a brutal stretch of contests. I think fatigue and the “snowball” effect keep the Cyclones from being in position late to win.

Oct. 12 – Oklahoma Sooners (6-1) vs Texas Tech Red Raiders

Line: Oklahoma -6.5

Prediction: Texas Tech 31, Oklahoma 30

The Red Raiders are unbeaten and ranked in the Top 10, yet are a road dog to the Sooners. This is a huge game for Texas Tech, and a chance to show the nation they are no fluke. Kingsbury will outcoach Bob Stoops, and somehow, someway, the Red Raiders get it done in Norman.

Oct. 26 – TCU Horned Frogs (3-4) vs Texas Longhorns

Line: TCU -2

Prediction: Texas 24, TCU 20

McCoy will have a couple turnovers and keep TCU in the game, but the QB position for the Frogs is a mess and will gift back at least one turnover. Texas has to run the ball, and should do so enough to win a close one on the road.

Nov. 2 – Kansas Jayhawks (2-4) vs Baylor Bears

Line: Baylor -35.5

Prediction: Baylor 63, Kansas 21

Bloodbath. Plain and Simple.

Nov. 9 – West Virginia Mountaineers (3-4) @ Kansas State Wildcats

Line: Kansas State -11

Prediction: West Virginia 31, Kansas State 24

So, how about that Oliver Luck fellow?

Nov. 16 – Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-1) @ Iowa State Cyclones

Line: Oklahoma State -13.5

Prediction: Oklahoma State 42, Iowa State 28

I wonder just how this quarterback situation is going to turn out. Not Gundy’s best coaching job, even if he is a man.

Nov. 28 – Texas Tech Red Raiders (7-0) @ Oklahoma Sooners

Line: Oklahoma -6.5

Prediction: Texas Tech 31, Oklahoma 30

Have a feeling this is going to be one fun game to watch. One thing I’ll be curious about is whether Kingsbury (Air Raid Master), will be able to ignore that huge liability that is the center of the Sooners defense.

Dec. 7 – Baylor Bears (6-0) @ Kansas Jayhawks

Line: Baylor -35.5

Prediction: Baylor 63, Kansas 21

Not that Kansas is good to begin with, but of all the teams in the conference, Baylor is probably the worst match up for the Jayhawks.

Combined Record of Opponents: 44-35
