Aug. 31 – New Mexico State Aggies (0-1) vs Minnesota Golden Gophers

Line: Minnesota -15.5

Prediction: Minnesota 27, New Mexico State 23

Jerry Kill and Doug Martin know each other well, and neither has a team which can execute. I would not be shocked if the Aggies pull the upset.

Sept. 7 – BYU Cougars (0-1) vs Texas Longhorns

Line: Texas -7

Prediction: Texas 31, BYU 20

The Cougars will get theirs, but I think the passing game isn’t going to help, and a key turnover will blow it open for the Longhorns.

Sept. 14 – Ole Miss Rebels (1-0) vs Southeast Missouri State Redhawks

Line: Ole Miss -51

Prediction: Ole Miss 59, SE Mizzou St 7

This could be a lot uglier, but Hugh will rest his boys for the big game next week. Pathetic SEC scheduling at it’s finest.

Sept. 21 – Kansas State Wildcats (0-1) vs Louisiana Lafayette Rajun Cajuns

Line: Kansas State -10.5

Prediction: Kansas State 27, ULL 17

Certainly Kansas State can’t get embarrassed at home in consecutive weeks. Right??

Oct. 3 – Iowa State Cyclones (0-1) Bye Week

Line: N/A

Prediction: A lot of tough, physical practices after the Cyclones somehow lost to FCS Northern Iowa at home.

Oct. 12 – Oklahoma Sooners (1-0) vs West Virginia Mountaineers

Line: Oklahoma -21

Prediction: Oklahoma 45, West Virginia 24

I don’t know what the deal is in Morgantown, but it won’t get better this week. I do expect a Clint Trickett apperance.

Oct. 26 – TCU Horned Frogs (0-1) vs Southeastern Louisiana Lions

Line: TCU -42.5

Prediction: TCU 42, SE Louisiana 17

Just an FYI. SE Louisiana played SE Mizzou St in week 1 and won the game 45-7. TCU wins in a tune up.

Nov. 2 – Kansas Jayhawks (0-0) vs South Dakota

Line: Kansas -23/5

Prediction: Kansas 38, South Dakota 3

South Dakota is a bad football team, and Kansas has ¾ of the eligible JUCOs from last year signed and debuting this week. I expect Charlie to push the issue and try to look impressive. Try.

Nov. 9 – West Virginia Mountaineers (0-1) at Oklahoma Sooners

Line: Oklahoma -21

Prediction: Oklahoma 45, West Virginia 24

Nothing to see here…move along.

Nov. 16 – Oklahoma State Cowboys (1-0) at UTSA Roadrunners

Line: Oklahoma State -26.5

Prediction: Oklahoma State 56, UTSA 13

I cover UTSA for Rivals, so I can tell you first hand the Roadrunners will one day be a strong program which can compete with the big boys. Too much talent in the area not to work out. That said, in year 3 UTSA is not ready to compete with the heavyweights of the FBS.

Nov. 28 – Texas Tech Red Raiders (1-0) at Stephen F Austin Lumberjacks

Line: Texas Tech -36

Prediction: Texas Tech 49, SFA 13

Maybe after Baker Mayfield throws for another 400 yards he’ll get a scholarship…..

Dec. 7 – Baylor Bears (1-0) vs Buffalo Bulls

Line: Baylor -27.5

Prediction: Baylor 49, Buffalo 20

Khalil Mack is the best LB I hope you’ve finally heard about. Unfortunately, Mack doesn’t play in the secondary, where the Bears will do damage. Buffalo just went to Ohio State and peformed well in a loss, I expect they’ll do the same in Waco.

Combined Record of Opponents: 5-6
