The College Football Playoff committee released their first set of rankings Tuesday evening, with Texas checking in at #7.
The Longhorns enter the week with a 7-1 record, with the lone loss coming against Oklahoma, who checked in at #9 in the rankings. Fellow Big 12 members Kansas (#21), Oklahoma State (#22) and Kansas State (#23), also debuted in the initial rankings. The Longhorns will face the Wildcats Saturday in Austin.
