Texas kicker Bert Auburn has officially announced he’s entering the NCAA Transfer Portal with one year of eligibility remaining.
Auburn leaves Austin as the most productive kicker in school history, finishing his career with a program-record 66 made field goals on 86 attempts (76.7%) and a perfect 178-for-178 on extra points.
He became the full-time starter in 2022 during Steve Sarkisian’s second season and made an immediate impact, going 21-for-26 on field goals. In 2023, Auburn had a career year—hitting 29 of 35 field goals, earning First-Team All-Big 12 honors, and setting a Texas single-season record for most made kicks.
This past season, however, was more inconsistent. Auburn finished 16-of-25, with four of his misses coming in the postseason—two in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia and two more in the College Football Playoff matchup with Arizona.
With one final season to play, Auburn will now look for a fresh opportunity to finish his college career strong.
