Ryan Niblett has been a true difference-maker for Texas in one of the most important phases of the game, special teams.
A dynamic two-way player capable of contributing on both sides of the ball, Niblett has become a game-changer in the return game. Over the last three contests, he’s taken two punts to the house, showcasing his elite speed and field vision.
The former four-star recruit out of Eisenhower High School in Houston, Texas, has delivered in the biggest moments. He electrified fans with a 75-yard punt return touchdown in the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma, then followed it up with two returns of over 40 yards in a statement win over Kentucky.
Just this past Saturday, Niblett’s explosive return against Mississippi State helped spark a comeback victory for the Longhorns, further proving his knack for flipping momentum.
With key matchups still ahead against Vanderbilt, Georgia, Arkansas, and Texas A&M, Niblett’s value to the Texas program continues to rise. His impact on special teams could be a deciding factor as the Longhorns push deeper into the season.
