University of Texas junior quarterback Quinn Ewers was named to the prestigious Maxwell Award watch list on Monday, which recognizes the top player in College Football. This is the third season for Ewers in Austin and the second consecutive year he has been named to the watch list.
Ewers had a stellar 2023 season, throwing for 3,479 yards with 22 touchdowns and only six interceptions. In the Longhorns’ 49-21 rout of Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship, Ewers threw for 452 yards and four touchdowns en route to earning the Big 12 Championship’s Most Outstanding Player.
On November 12, semifinalists will be announced before the three finalists will be unveiled on November 26. The winner of the Maxwell Award will be announced at the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 12.
The Longhorns open their season on Saturday, August 31 in Austin against the Colorado State Rams at 2:30 PM.
