Following their 48-45 win over the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday, the Texas Longhorns made significant movement in the Week 7 polls. Previously ranked 20th in the Amway Coaches Poll, Texas moved up six spots to #14.
The Longhorns made their biggest jump in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, surging ahead 10 spots to #9, their highest ranking in the poll since the 2009 season.
The Sooners fell to #11 in both polls after the loss to Texas, slipping six spots in the Coaches Poll and just four spots in the Associated Press Top 25.
Texas and West Virginia remain the only teams undefeated in conference play (3-0) and will meet on November 3rd in Austin.
The Longhorns face Baylor (4-2, 2-1) next week at home, followed by a trip to Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-2, 1-2) after a bye week.
