https://www.hornsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/HSRU.jpgIt’s never too early to plan for great things. Right? Absolutely not if you’re Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns. On Tuesday Reggie Hemphill, wide receiver from Manvel High School (Class of 2016) verbally committed to play football for the Longhorns.
You read that right – Class of 2016.
Hemphill,  6-1, 175 lbs., attended a Texas camp in June and followed up by attending the inaugural Texas Stampede recruiting event last month. His scholarship offer came at the June camp in which he impressed the coaching staff with his speed, size and prowess on the field. Hemphill had interest in Texas A&M and attended a summer camp in College Station along with Manvel teammate Deontay Anderson (safety/athlete), who also has Texas on his list of favorites.
National Signing Day 2016 is two and a half years away and Texas fans shouldn’t be surprised when outside offers begin to pour in for Hemphill over the next year or two. Hemphill has all the tools and promise to be a premier wide receiver at the collegiate level.
Hats off to Mack Brown and Patrick Suddes for jump-starting the ’16 class with Hemphill.
