Needing a win to climb above the .500 mark and become bowl eligible, the Texas Longhorns rolled into Stillwater and handled the Oklahoma State Cowboys 28-7.
The Longhorns scored on their first possession when quarterback Tyrone Swoopes found senior wide receiver John Harris for 19 yards and the end zone. The extra point from placekicker Nick Rose hit the right upright, which gave the Longhorns a 6-0 lead early in the first quarter.
Six minutes later Johnathan Gray would find his way into the Oklahoma State end zone on a 6-yard run in which he bowled over safety Jordan Sterns.
Nick Rose would add field goals from 51 and 34 yards and the Longhorns would take a 19-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The 3rd quarter woes would continue for the Longhorns as they failed to score a touchdown, but Nick Rose would add a 44 yard field goal to extend the Texas lead over Oklahoma State to 22-0.
The Cowboys would get on the board in the 4th quarter on an 8-yard pass from quarterback Daxx Garman to James Washington.
Five minutes later Tyrone Swoopes would throw a rainbow to Armanti Foreman, which was good for 45 yards and the third Texas touchdown of the night. Nick Rose would see his extra point attempt blocked and the Longhorns would hold on to a 28-7 lead until time expired.
