Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian notched his first win with the Longhorns on Saturday as #21 Texas defeated #23 Louisiana 38-28 at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium.
Starting quarterback Hudson Card threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another. Bijan Robinson started the season with a bang, eclipsing the century mark on the ground, rushing for a score and catching one for a touchdown.
Jordan Whittington led the Longhorns in receiving finishing the game with 113 yards on seven catches and one touchdown.
Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense held the Ragin’ Cajuns to 76 yards rushing, while veteran Louisiana quarterback LEvi Lewis threw for 282 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
The Longhorns will head to Fayetteville, Arkansas this week for a 6:00 PM matchup with the Razorbacks.
