Baron Tipton | Coppell High School | Class of 2024 | Wide Receiver
Tipton is one of the top ranked wide receivers in the Class of 2024 in the DFW area. At six foot five, Tipton is a mismatch for most defensive backs, he has an extended catch radius with sticky hands, and he is a red zone threat due to his skill to win on the 50/50 contested catches. Although Tipton didn’t have a monster night statistically, he paid dividends within the Cowboys offense with his physical blocking from his receiver position, using his lean frame to work on the outside to help break big runs. Tipton had a head topping grab in the first half that was called out of bounds, but he displayed his dynamic leaping ability and superb body control in close coverage. The North Texas commit will be a key player in the Cowboys’ offense as they head deep into district play.
Xavier Mosley | Coppell High School | Class of 2024 | Running Back
Mosley runs with power between the tackles, he has the quickness in space to make defenders miss and his shiftiness in the open field allows him to explode to the second level with the potential to make a house call for six. Xavier plays with a low center of gravity; he runs with a powerful forward lean and his ability to break arm tackles makes him a weapon in the Coppell Cowboys offense. Mosley was a threat all game long, he had multiple rushing touchdowns and an electric run after catch where he leapt into the end zone for a score. Xavier will be a steal for a college program looking for a go to back to come and tote the rock.
Zach Cody | Coppell High School |Class of 2024 | Defensive Back
Cody is a sticky defender, his footwork is superb combined with oily hips that enable him to turn, cut and run with receivers. Zach is physical in press coverage using his violent hands to reroute wideouts, he transitions into his backpedal smoothly, which allows him to stay in phase and his ability to lock in on his opponents makes him one of the key defenders on the Cowboys defense. His game was in full bloom versus Lewisville, as he was able to hold down his half of the field showing his prowess as a lockdown defender. A 3-Star recruit, Cody has great length combined with the speed to blanket receivers and he is a ballhawk when the football is in his zone. The Costal Carolina commit has the skill set that would allow him to get on campus and challenge for early playing time.
Devin Love | Lewisville High School | Class of 2024 |OL
Love, a San Diego State commit, plays with a physical nature, he has a stiff punch at engagement, and he has a nastiness to his game that can’t be coached. At 6’4 315 pounds, Devin has clean footwork, he has extended length in his arms that allows him to keep defenders under control and his ability to bend well at that hip allows him to use great leverage to move get a great push upfront. Love and the offensive line ignited the Lewisville ground game in the second half, that saw Ellison have a breakout game behind Devin’s physical play upfront. Love’s presence will be key for the Lewisville offense as the Farmers look to rebound from a tough loss to Coppell and position themselves in their district to head to the playoffs.
