2023 Portal Recruiting (CLOSED)

Saw Catalon play fairly recently...either this season or last. Kid is a beast. If I recall, the Longhorns were a contender for him before he chose the Hogs, right?
He played 4 games in 2021 and 1 game in 2022 with major shoulder injuries. He's had reconstructive surgery twice. Before the injuries, he was a helluva player for the Hogs.

NCAA is dead for college football and basketball. Toothless, barking dog.  Unless your say “SFA”. Kansas and NC cheat at basketball and SFA gets games nullified. That’s just to show the little guy that the rules do apply to them.
NCAA just made a very interesting hire to replace Emmert as head. A politician. You know his first job will be to get congress to pass legislation on what colleges are legally able to do and enforce. Without it the ncaa is nothing.

They were forced to allow NIL so they wouldn’t get sued and lose for improper labor laws with athletes. Now it’s going crazy the other way. We shall see if congress can find some balance.

TFB reporting they aren't sure if this visit is football related.

Ole Miss is thought to be the favorite here because Catalon's position coach at Arkansas is now in Oxford, but Texas is supposedly the team that could sway his opinion.

So he's damaged goods. Thats too bad.

I don't know a lot about his shoulder injuries but the good would be it's not a lower body injury that may cause him to lose much speed or athleticism. Problem with the shoulder is how prone is it to recur with every major hit?
Two “reconstructive surgeries.”  One on each shoulder?

I remember a promising young safety for the cowboys named randy Hughes, who tore his shoulder up a couple of times. Ruined a promising career

The shoulder injuries are probably baseball related. He was a two sport athlete I thought.
He was but stopped once he realized he'd be an NFL draft pick. Injuries happened on the football field but the wear and tear on them from baseball could have made them more at risk. Real tough break for him.

Thought a broken leg ended his career after coming back from the shoulder injuries. Either way, never reached what he could have been as a result of the injuries.

Didn't see anything about a broken leg. In 1979, he disclocated his right shoulder. In 1980, he reinjured his right shoulder in pre-season and had it operated on twice that year. In 1981, he dislocated his right shoulder again in pre-season and retired prior to the start of the season.

Was one of the "dirty dozen" rookies who made the team in 1975.

Surgery was a lot different then. That is ancient times.

Crazy how fast Flood has changed our Oline from a weakness to a strength.
Brock was a top 10 recruit what was it, 2 years ago ?

And now we don’t even take a flyer ? On a legacy ?

Flood is badass, and it’s about time we focused on the Oline
