2023 Portal Recruiting (CLOSED)

This makes me think that Flood did not want to waste a scholarship on this one.
I heard nothing that indicated we were interested.  Flood doesn't seem to favor the portal.... I was stunned we didn't bring in a player or two last year.  He seems to know what he's doing though....

Crazy how fast Flood has changed our Oline from a weakness to a strength
Brock was a top 10 recruit what was it, 2 years ago ?

And now we don’t even take a flyer ? On a legacy ?

Flood is badass, and it’s about time we focused on the Oline
I'm not sure I would say "strength". Vastly improved, yes. Based on the last couple of games, we seem to have trouble pass protecting. Running the ball doesn't seem to be a problem, but pass protection, hmmm. ?

Not at LT. Flood has his anchor for the line. I'm excited to see how this OL grows. I just wonder how long we can hang on to Flood.

Maybe we can hold on to him for a while. He’s worked with Sark with the Falcons, at Alabama and now Texas.  They may have a good working relationship.
I don't get the sense he is looking for anything more than what he has at Texas. We can pay him as much anyone. I don't think he wants to be anything other than an OL coach

Reading Sark's comments on the 23 class, You gotta think they will be going after a WR or two via the portal (even if they swing Moore).  The talk about depth at that position is obviously on his mind.  Cook and Niblett will be very good, but you never know how fast they can get up to that level.  Worthy is Worthy, no idea if JWhitt is coming back and Neyor is coming off a serious injury and may not be at the same level he was to start.  Hall's departure hurts things some, but Red and Thompson can step in, but they're unproven at this point.

If Jwhitt comes back, the the WR room is good to go for next year.  Red and Thompson can fill in until Neyor gets comfortable and healthy.  If Jwhitt leaves then the Horns have a major gap to fill with unproven talent.  So far, the WR room is looking like this with JWhitt:  Worthy, Jwhitt, Neyor, Red, Thompson, Cain, Alexis, Cook and Niblett (9 total. 8 without JWhitt).

Pretty thin quality and experienced depth there.  Cook could explode on the scene next year like Worthy did, but I don't think you can count on that. Would like to see them get to 11 in that room.  Wisner could possibly move over, but I envision him in the Keilen Robinson role in the future.
