It was a big recruiting weekend for the Texas football staff, with Steve Sarkisian and company welcoming several top 2024 high school prospects along with a few coveted portal targets. The first portal domino fell Saturday evening when WR Matthew Golden pulled the trigger and committed to Texas. DB Andrew Mukuba wasted little time following in Golden’s footsteps, committing to Texas on Monday afternoon.
Mukuba was a 3-year starter for Clemson, playing nickel and safety. The Austin LBJ product has 142 career tackles and an interception. With Jahdae Barron likely departing for the NFL and the safety room being retooled, Mukuba is likely to quickly find his way on the field.
