Texas will return a key member of their secondary next season. Junior Jahdae Barron announced Saturday evening that he would return to the 40 Acres for the 2024 campaign.
Barron started 22 games across the last two seasons. In 2023, he registered 4.5 TFL’s, 7 PBU’s, 1 INT and 1 fumble recovery. The Austin native was projected as a mid-round pick if he declared for the NFL draft but will look to improve his stock next season.
The return of Barron improves the outlook of the Texas secondary in 2024. The Longhorns have already added Clemson transfer Andrew Mukuba, who can play nickel or safety, and are also set to return Derek Williams, Malik Muhammad, Gavin Holmes, Terrance Brooks, and Michael Taaffe.
