The Associated Press released its Preseason Top 25 College Football Poll early Saturday morning and to no surprise Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide hold the top spot. In fact, the Tide gobbled up every first-place vote but two (both Ohio State and Georgia each received one). Rounding out the top 5 are Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford and Georgia. The Texas Longhorns debut at #15 which matches the team’s ranking in the USA Today Coaches Poll which was released two weeks ago.
Other Big 12 teams ranked in the AP Poll include Oklahoma State (#13), Oklahoma (#16) and TCU (#20).  The Southeastern conference showed strong in the poll, with 5 teams in the top 10.
Texas began last season with an identical #15 ranking in the 2012 Preseason AP Poll and finished the season ranked #19.
Complete AP Preseason Poll can be found below (first place votes in parenthesis).
