The University of Texas won the LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup for the second year in a row and the fourth time in five years. They earned 1,255.25 points in the 2024-25 season, narrowly beating USC and Stanford.
Texas broke Stanford’s 25-year winning streak in 2020-21 and has been a top contender ever since. This year, Texas won national titles in Men’s Swimming and Diving and Softball, marking the fifth consecutive year with multiple national championships.
Over the past five years, Texas has won 13 NCAA team championships across eight sports. They have also achieved numerous top-five and top-10 finishes in NCAA Championships.
In the 2024-25 season, Texas had top-five finishes in several sports, including Women’s Swimming and Diving, Rowing, Football, Women’s Basketball, Men’s Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Women’s Golf, and Men’s Golf. They also had top-10 finishes in Volleyball, Women’s Tennis, and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field.
Texas was the only NCAA Division I school to have its Football, Men’s or Women’s Basketball, and Baseball or Softball teams reach the Final Four of their NCAA Tournaments this season. They also won eight Southeastern Conference titles and one Coastal Collegiate Sports Association title.
Since Chris Del Conte became Athletics Director in 2017, Texas has won 15 National Championships and numerous other accolades. The LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup awards points based on NCAA Championship finishes, and Texas has consistently been a top performer.
