University of Texas Athletics’ two National Championships and three runner-up finishes in the 2023-2024 season were enough to send the LEARFIELD Director’s Cup back to Austin. The Longhorns edged Stanford for the Director’s Cup honor, which uses a point system based on a program’s finish in NCAA Championships. Texas finished with 1,377 points while the Cardinal tallied 1,312.75 points in second place.
The Longhorns won National Championships in Volleyball and Rowing, which marks the fourth consecutive year Texas Athletics Programs have won multiple national titles in the same season. Softball, Men’s Tennis and Women’s Swimming each finished as runners-up in the NCAA Championships for their respective sport. Texas also set a Big 12 Conference record with a total of 15 Conference Championships this season (Soccer (tournament), Volleyball, Football, Women’s Indoor Track and Field, Men’s Swimming and Diving, Women’s Swimming and Diving, Women’s Basketball (tournament), Men’s Tennis (regular season and tournament), Women’s Golf, Men’s Golf, Softball, Men’s Outdoor Track and Field, Women’s Outdoor Track and Field and Rowing.
