About UConn
Record: 8-3
Key Wins: Ohio State, Michigan
Preview:
Connecticut is a good team but not a great team. Kevin Ollie’s Huskies boast no marquee wins and conversely have suffered no bad losses. For the Longhorns, who beat the 24th-ranked Huskies last season in Storrs, Connecticut, a home game in Austin on Tuesday should make for a less stressful outcome.
However, the Longhorns will have their hands full with Rodney Purvis and Daniel Hamilton. Both are great guards that will test the defensive abilities of Isaiah Taylor and Demarcus Holland. Rodney Purvis shoots many three pointers and hits 44% of those shots. Hamilton is a better free throw shooter than Rodney Purvis and recently picked up a triple double against Central Connecticut last week.
The Longhorns will win but it won’t be by double-digits. It’s going to be another nail biter but one which will boost the tournament profile of the Longhorns.
Texas wins 77-75.
