How did the Jayhawks do? In a word, horrible. Kansas welcomed undefeated and explosive Baylor to Lawrence, a town which has been a difficult place to win for many squads through the years. On this night, the Bears only difficulty was getting reps for the punter.
The high octane Bears rolled up 743 yards of total offense, including 306 yards rushing in a 59-14 demolition. Brice Petty threw for 430 yards and 3 scores, and Lache Seastrunk ran for 109 yards on just 13 carries.
The score could have been much worse, but Art Briles showed mercy once his squad was up 45-0. Kansas did end up with 308 yards of total offense, but most came late.
If you are keeping score, the Jayhawks have not won a Big 12 game since the dark ages, but were supposed to be much improved as Charlie Weis signed up a bevy of JUCO players. Age has not been the factor he had hoped, and now Kansas comes to DKR with its season on the line.
We’ll have continuing coverage all week right here. Texas is currently a 27 point favorite headed into the game, a 2:30pm kick on the infamous Longhorn Network.
