True freshman linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. was named to the Freshman All-America team by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) on Tuesday. The five star recruit and Denton Ryan (TX) product made his mark on the field this season, starting six games and playing in all fourteen of the Longhorns’ games. Hill registered 67 tackles (40 solo) along with five sacks and eight tackles for loss. His consistency on the field was notable as he made at least four tackles in 11 games and at least six tackles in six games.
His performance this season was extremely impressive and marks the third consecutive season in which the Longhorns have had a player make the FWAA Freshman All-America Team (Xavier Worthy – 2021, Kelvin Banks – 2022).
