Oral Roberts transfer and graduate guard Max Abmas was one of five players named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team, the league announced on Thursday. Abmas joins LJ Cryer (Houston), Hunter Dickinson (Kansas), Dajuan Harris (Kansas) and Emmanuel Miller (TCU) on the award list which was put together by aggregating the votes of Big 12 head basketball coaches.
Abmas wasn’t the only Longhorn to receive honors – junior guard Tyrese Hunter, sophmore forward Dillon Mitchell and graduate forward Dylan Disu were all named Preseason Honorable Mention All-Big 12.
Texas will open the regular season on Monday, November 6 against Incarnate Word at the Moody Center in Austin.
