After swinging and missing at two big prospects that took visits this weekend, Mack’s final swing landed.
Montrel Meander, a 6-foot-3, 190 lbs. athlete from Palo Duro HS in Amarillo (will play wide receiver for Texas) flipped on his commitment to Washington State and decided to become a Longhorn today.
Meander took an official visit to Austin this weekend, and wanted to go home to think about his choice. Less than 12 hours later, he called Mack Brown to inform him he would indeed be a part of Texas’ class of 2013.
Meander played mostly Safety in HS, but there’s no doubting his athletic ability and speed. Meander held over 20+ offers (Including serious interest from LSU and Oregon), and was set to be part of Mike Leach’s Washington State Cougars, but felt like he should play closer to home.
Meander makes No. 15 for the class of 2013. Texas may snag another few big commits in the next 24 hours. Desoto’s Dontre Wilson and Waco High’s Andrew Billings are set to announce within the day.
