Arizona State’s offense, led by running back Cam Skattebo and quarterback Sam Leavitt, poses a formidable challenge for Texas in the Peach Bowl. Skattebo has been one of the nation’s premier running backs, finishing fifth in Heisman voting after rushing for 1,568 yards and 19 touchdowns. A downhill runner with excellent short-area quickness and surprising wiggle in the open field, Skattebo combines power, vision, and explosiveness, making him a nightmare to tackle. He’s also a dual threat, catching 37 passes for 506 yards and 3 touchdowns, adding versatility to the Sun Devils’ attack.
Under center, redshirt freshman Sam Leavitt has been a revelation. A transfer from Michigan State, Leavitt plays with poise, processes the game well, and possesses the arm talent to stretch the field while delivering accurate throws in short and intermediate zones. His 2,663 passing yards and 24 touchdowns highlight his ability to lead an offense efficiently and explosively.
Arizona State’s balanced attack will be the toughest challenge Texas has faced since their matchup against Georgia. For the Longhorns’ defense to succeed, they’ll need to perform at an elite level, staying disciplined and making key stops against one of the nation’s most potent offenses.
