Per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times and USF Sports Bulletin, Trey Holtz will enroll in classes at The University of Texas next week and has accepted a preferred walk-on spot with Mack Brown and the Longhorns.  Holtz you say? Yes, a surname we are all very familiar with as college football fans… THAT bloodline of Holtz. Trey is the grandson of legendary Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz and son of current South Florida Head football coach Skip Holtz. Trey (6-1, 180 lbs.) played at Plant High School in Tampa and will join the Longhorns most likely as a quarterback that will never take a snap, but more likely as a guy that will help on special teams or elsewhere. Skip Holtz mentioned he would have liked to see his son play at South Florida but he was happy for his son’s acceptance into UT. Lightly put, Trey didn’t “mess with the Bulls, but he got the Horns!” Hook’em.
