Texas head coach Tom Herman won his third consecutive bowl game as head coach of the Longhorns on Tuesday night, defeating #11 Utah 38-10 in the Valero Alamo Bowl. Sam Ehlinger threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another, and the Texas rushing attack amassed 231 yards on the ground against the top-ranked FBS rushing defense.
The Texas offense shined, but the Texas defense dominated. Joseph Ossai sacked Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley three times, and interim defensive coordinator Craig Naivar’s unit pressured him on just about every snap. Utah finished with just 254 yards of total offense.
The Longhorns finish the 2019 season on a positive note and head into next season with new offensive and defensive coordinators.
