Seven Texas Longhorns have earned All-SEC honors, with two making the first team, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Junior left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. and senior defensive back Jahdae Barron were named to the first-team All-SEC on offense and defense, respectively. Junior quarterback Quinn Ewers and senior tight end Gunnar Helm secured spots on the second-team All-SEC offense, while sophomore linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. was named to the second-team All-SEC defense. Sophomore running back Quintrevion Wisner and senior defensive back Andrew Mukuba rounded out the honors with third-team All-SEC selections on offense and defense.
Kelvin Banks Jr.
Kelvin Banks Jr., a finalist for the 2024 Lombardi Award, Outland Trophy, and Joe Moore Award, has been a standout on the offensive line, starting in 39 games. The Humble, Texas native has received numerous accolades this season, including the Outland Trophy’s National Player of the Week and SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week twice. His leadership has helped Texas rank highly in several offensive categories, including passing offense and scoring.
Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron, a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Jim Thorpe Award, has been a key player in the Texas defense. The fifth-year defensive back has played in 54 games, with 36 starts, and leads the team in interceptions and pass break-ups. Barron has been instrumental in guiding a defense that ranks among the best in the nation in several categories, including turnovers gained and passing yards allowed.
Quinn Ewers, the junior quarterback, has led the Longhorns to 25 victories in his 33 starts. This season, he has thrown for 2,665 yards and 25 touchdowns, earning him a spot as a finalist for the Manning Award and several other prestigious honors. Ewers has been a consistent performer, with a 24-game passing touchdown streak, the longest active streak by an FBS quarterback.
Gunnar Helm
Gunnar Helm, the senior tight end, has been a reliable target in the Texas offense, leading the team in receptions and ranking second in receiving yards. Helm has also been recognized as a semifinalist for the John Mackey and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Awards.
Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr., the sophomore linebacker, has been a force on defense, leading the team in tackles and tackles for loss. Hill has earned national recognition for his performances, including multiple weekly honors.
Quintrevion Wisner
