University of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was one of twenty quarterbacks named as Davey O’Brien Award semifinalists, the Davey O’Brien Foundation announced on Tuesday. The O’Brien Award is presented to the best college football quarterback in the country and is the oldest and most recognized quarterback award in college football.
Ewers started eight of ten games for the Longhorns and has thrown for 2,232 yards and 14 touchdowns along with four interceptions. His leadership and ability under center has helped guide the Longhorns to their best start since the 2008 season, with a 9-1 record through 10 games.

Finalists for the award will be announced on November 28 with the winner being recognized on December 8th at the Home Depot College Football Awards.

The Fan Vote will take place on the Davey O’Brien Award’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (X) pages and the the top five vote getters on each platform will receive bonus committee member ballots. These ballots will then be added to the National Selection Committee’s votes.
