After suffering their second loss on the season last Wednesday, the Texas Longhorns (11-2, 5-1) bounced back with an 82-67 home win over Kansas State (5-9, 1-5) on Saturday. Andrew Jones led all scorers with 19 points, leading three other Texas players who scored in double figures (Kamika Hepa – 15, Courtney Ramey – 14, and Jericho Sims – 14).
Kansas State’s Davion Bradford led the Wildcats in scoring with 14 points, with Rudi Williams contributing 12 points and Mike McGuirl and DaJuan Gordon each scoring 11 points.
Texas shot 52.5% from the floor and 38.7% from beyond the arc. Kansas State shot 43.1% from the floor and 36.8% from three point range.
The Longhorns never trailed Kansas State and used a 15-0 run in the first half to take a 44-24 lead at halftime. Texas led by as many as 28 points in the second half before the Wildcats eventually cut the Longhorns’ lead to 15 points before the game clock expired.
The loss was the fourth straight for Bruce Weber’s team.
