The Texas Longhorns (8-4, 7-2) have accepted an invitation to the Valero Alamo Bowl and will face the Oregon Ducks (10-2, 7-2) on Monday December 30th at 5:45 CST in San Antonio. Â After losing consecutive nonconference games to BYU and Ole Miss, the Longhorns reeled off 6-straight wins over Big 12 conference opponents. Â Oregon won 8-straight games to start the season before being derailed by Stanford. Â Both teams lost two of their last four regular season games, with Texas losing its last regular season game against Baylor and Oregon beating in-state rival Oregon State to finish regular season play.
The Longhorns will make their second-consecutive appearance in San Antonio, returning as reigning Alamo Bowl Champs after defeating Oregon State last year 31-27.
