Texas fans didn’t have to wait long for the team’s second Junior Day to end before receiving a commitment from a big-time recruit. 4-star linebacker from Cypress Woods High School Deoundrei Davis talked with Mack Brown this morning and pledged his services to the University of Texas. His commitment comes unexpectedly quick, especially if you are using Junior Day One as a point of reference. If you remember, Longhorn fans had to wait a few days before receiving a commitment (which came courtesy of Jake Oliver.) Mack Brown was evidently so impressed with Davis that he wanted to chat with the high school junior last night, literally. The two connected on Facebook for a chat and Mack showered him with praise and told the youngster that UT was the place for him. Davis must have liked what he heard because he wasted no time and called Mack this morning and delivered the good news.
Davis was wanted by many schools including Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. According to Davis he would play at either Texas or Oklahoma State. He becomes the 7th 2013 recruit to commit to The University of Texas.
