After Mack Brown changed the game in the state of Texas in terms of recruiting, now a big weekend with many 2014 recruits coming in to take a look at fall practice and visit the campus awaits. Chris Flanagan handicaps who might commit this weekend.

CONFIRMED VISITORS

Jerrod Heard (QB-Denton Guyer)

Chance of commitment this weekend: 80%

Jerrod Heard has spoken very well of Texas leading many people close to him to really think that the Longhorns are in very good shape. He has an official offer from Texas so unless he is waiting for another school, he might go ahead and pull the trigger. Texas needs to recruit a QB every year because the Longhorns can’t have another QB situation like they are experiencing right now. Since the word is that he loves the Longhorns and now has the offer, he will commit in Mack Brown’s office.

DB Jamal Adams (Lewisville Hebron)

Chance of Commitment this weekend: 15%

Jamal Adams is a pure secondary prospect in the state of Texas. He has great skills and hands that would be crucial for any secondary. He is a hot commodity but I don’t expect him to commit this weekend. He really likes Alabama and he hasn’t gotten an official offer from them so he might wait for that to happen before considering committing. When he does, I expect him to make the call to Mack Brown instead of Nick Saban.

Unconfirmed visitors:

Demetrius Knox might make it in but even if he does, I wouldn’t count on a commitment from him until he visited Ohio State.  KD Cannon took a trip to Baylor today and will not be visiting Austin this weekend.  Stay tuned for more about these recruits as visit information unfolds.
